Experience Jesus

In God’s Guidance to Get Baptized I wrote about how I grew up with the idea that baptism was the sign of the New Covenant. This idea was supported by the teaching that baptism replaced circumcision. Circumcision was the Jewish sign of the covenant between God and the descendants of Abraham. However, there is no reference in the New Testament to baptism as the sign of the New Covenant. WWII and Living in the Kingdom of God

When I was young, I liked to read books. Many of the books I read were stories about the Second World War. I liked to read books about the Dutch Resistance during the nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Although, most of them were only fictional stories, they inspired and intrigued me. First, I was scared because I realized that following Jesus was more than just believing that something is true, that Jesus is the Son of God and died for our sins. After I struggled with this for more than half a year, I gave myself over to God. I admitted that I couldn’t live for God in my own strength and I declared that I only wanted to follow Jesus the rest of my life. I turned away from my old life and started a relationship with God. This was the beginning of something amazing and it is still going on. Read More
